Arizona attractions come in all sizes. One of the biggest is Hoover Dam but it’s just the start. The USS Arizona memorial, the Desert Botanical Garden and the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix, Meteor Crater, the Route 66 Museum in Kingman, the Salt River Canyon on US-60, white-water rafting on the Colorado and the Salt, the Phoenix Art Museum and the Heard , Taliesin West, and on and on.
Petroglyph hikes are a good way to get out in the real world and get a connection with the history that surrounds us in Arizona.
The Verde Canyon Railroad near Clarkdale gives a combination look at history, geology and nature all in one 3 1/2 to 4 hour trip.
